    Prairie Falcon

    I came across this adult prairie falcon on a drive earlier this year. was able to quickly grab some shots as he left.

    thanks! I think he just finished eating something, you can see some debris coming off his talons in shot 2 that look like fur or feathers or something when he's taking off

    Looks like feathers! Falcons are bird hunters. That or he was scratching his neck with his talons, which they often do.

    thanks! yeah these guys are hard to come by, I'm glad I was able to get these shots of him. they're related to the Peregrine Falcon but smaller.
