    Another group of owls

Here's a couple pictures of some owls I took during the holidays.

A Great Grey Owl listens for prey:

Close by, a Northern Hawk Owl:

Pretty easy to find these two species and they're usually very tame. My goal this winter is to also find a Barred Owl and a Snowy Owl or two. I'm actually really surprised I haven't seen a snowy yet last year I would see three or four in a day.

Apparently this is a major flight year for them, haven't seen a single one yet this winter.

Yes I've read that two. It's unfortunate that we were hit by a snowstorm today, I would be out there searching for some right now otherwise.

Thanks! Actually I have an update, somebody has spotted a Barred Owl just up the road from my house—so I'm going to look for it tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I get some pictures!
