    Bald Eagles

Just a couple Bald Eagles to keep the forum alive!

Red River broke up, groups of eagles sat on the moving ice.

A group of eagles fighting over a deer carcass, photographed the same day as the wolf.

I miss my baldies, we didn't have many this year out here. there was a strange outbreak of west nile that was causing some pretty major casualties with the bald eagle population, I think something like 30ish were found dead. they suspect the eagles ate some infected grebes or something. anyways, they normally do a yearly carp poison at Farmington bay to keep the carp numbers under control, and it attracts tons of baldies and other birds. we sometimes get hundreds of bald eagles, but they didn't do the carp kill this year to avoid the potential issues with the eagles and the virus outbreak. hopefully next year though.

I want to go find some baldies near me but a little short on time right now. Maybe I'll find some later or next year.
