    Thanks, this was actually taken during our birding festival we have out here every year, we were out with a group looking for burrowing owls and I saw this guy on the opposite side of the van.

    yeah shrikes are really interesting, especially how they impale their prey on thorns and such. I want to image some of that behavior

    I think I saw a bird like that last spring. I have the photos on my computer a little fuzzy nothing like aloicious'. But we might. I'm from east central Illinois.
