    So Close

    so I got super close to a hawk in my parents backyard this evening.

    no crop at 160mm

    awesome! I'm not great at distinguishing these 2, but I think its a immature Sharp-shinned hawk....either that or an immature cooper's hawk

    My dad had his nikon binoculars out they are 7x42 I think. Wow those things are bad ass. Like looking through a 400 F2 so much light and so crisp.

    oh yeah, spotting scopes are cool too, super long focal lengths, but they wouldn't be good for photography, they don't have much light gathering ability and they don't correct for things like CA on the same scale that lenses do.

    Nice! I like #2 the best, you get a good idea of how big and sharp those talons are

    I've noticed that. Our spotting scope has TONS of CA at it's max focal length even though it's a pretty decent Leupold
