    I was looking at these used on ebay, wow $800 all day. What a deal

    yeah its not bad, they're not the greatest lens out there but for a budget lens they're pretty decent. in line with the sigma 50-500's, but probably a bit better QC with the nikons because old sigmas weren't known for great quality control, nowadays they're good, but it wasn't always that way.

    Maybe off topic for her but how many lenses are still out there with an aperture adjustment on them?

    For current Nikon production lenses, view the chart and if it does not have the letter "G" after the F-STOP number, then it has an aperture ring.

    yeah there are a lot but its getting less and less all the time. the newest G and E lenses do not, many canon lenses haven't had them for a long time. etc...

    Just wondering what options are for using them on an Olympus. Obviously there are adapter rings but you'd have to have one with an aperture to

    you'd have to get an older version, and it would be completely manual focus as well. and since it'd be manual focus anyways, you'd be better off with an actual manual focus lens, they're sweet. though hard to use with like action/sports/wildlife stuff...doable but hard.

    real manual focus lenses will probably be cheaper too.
