This is very cool, I'd like to visit some ancient cliff dwellings like this sometime.

Nice drive in a 4x4 to the Riverhouse, or you can visit it via the San Juan River. It's open to walk inside and look around.

Sort of Cedar Mesa area. Moon house is off Cedar Ridge (Hwy 261), while House on Fire is off Hwy 95 (which goes between Blanding and Hanksville). Riverhouse is off Hwy 163. Riverhouse is not well marked by road. If you take Hwy 191 south out through Moab, Monticello, Blanding and Bluff, where 191 goes south and 163 goes west. Stay on 163, cross over Comb Ridge and as you descend there is a parking area on the left. You pull in, jog left then right. There are some minor ledges to climb, and there is a pretty sizable patch of what is known as "sugar sand."
If you ever come down this way and need GPS coordinates for Riverhouse; I have the complete track.

House on fire is best viewed later morning, but it all depends on time of the year. My shot is terrible. No the right lighting...

I need to go back, and might do that if I head down to Sand Island over Halloween....

thats still not a bad shot, but yeah the lighting does look a bit flat on it. I'll totally have to get the GPS coordinates from you.

Not only the immediate area, but the heart of the CO rockies (OUray, Silverton) are just three hours away.

Silverton, one of my favorite little cities. Problem is, the only way out is UP and that is probably a major problem in the winter....
