    Photobucket

Anyone notice any degradation of their photos on Photobucket? I have noticed some of my latest photos appear to be a bit blurry especially when compared to the original file on my computer.

Yes I've noticed that too. You can change the setting to make it a little better. I'm on my phone. I'll post what I did to help when I get back home

I had this issue a little while ago. I think I had to manually change my settings to keep the original upload resolution. Just uploaded this to make sure it was keeping the resolution; looks like it still is.

yeah, that's what I did too, if you go to user settings at the top, then albums, then upload options, then click the 'display my linked photos in their original size' checkbox. that should fix it.

Sigh...I think photobucket is downgrading my image quality again, even though my settings are correct and I have "original image quality" selected.

I wouldn't doubt it...makes me want to start an image housing site myself.

I would gladly join it. Ever since photobucket's recent "facelift" they've gone downhill. My albums won't rearrange into chronological order, pictures won't show up sometimes until you refresh the page, if you delete a photo and reupload an altered version of it but under the same file name, it will just keep the the original photo. And of course now they are having image quality issues.

yeah I haven't been very happy with them either, but I dislike the other options like flickr even more. I don't know what it would take to build a site like that, I may have to look into it some time.

I have no idea what it would take either, but man, there's a business opportunity if I've ever heard one. An image hosting site centered around higher quality professional type photos with no 1MB file size limit.

yeah, simple interface, no fancy 'in site editing' or other BS that most of us wouldn't need that is just marketed to the lowest common denominator, we just need a place to house them. a photo housing site by photographers, for photographers...or just people who want a simple photo hosting site without all the BS...

hmmm...I'd have to have ads on it to help cover the costs of hosting and everything. I would definitely want it to be free for the users....hmmm...I'll have to do some research, maybe I can get hellknighthicks from over on GTC to help or give some good input, he works in IT and does java and other coding for a living...
